East Putney tube station

Mainline services through East Putney were ended by the Southern Railway (successor to the L&SWR) on 4 May 1941, although the line remained in British Rail ownership until 1 April 1994 when it was sold to London Underground for the nominal sum of £1. Until the sale, the station was branded as a British Rail station.

St. Mary's Church, Putney

In 1973 an arson attack gutted much of the church. Rebuilding was not completed until nearly ten years later, when the church was rehallowed by the Bishop of Woolwich, on 6 February 1982. This restoration has led to the altar not being in the usual place in the chancel or even at the eastern end of the nave, but instead half-way down the northern side of the nave, with the seating arranged to reflect this.[1] The pipe organ is by the Danish firm of Marcussen & Søn.[2] The architect of the restoration was Ronald Sims.

Highgate tube station

The present low-level station was built in the late 1930s as part of London Underground's Northern Heights plan. It is just part of the planned station but the advent of the Second World War postponed parts of the project and eventually led to its cancellation. The low-level station was built directly below the existing high-level London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) station.
