Places of interest in N14

Southgate tube station

Like Arnos Grove, Oakwood and Cockfosters, Southgate is a listed building in this case at Grade II* (regraded from Grade 2 in 2009) and retains much of its original decoration. The two escalators have the original column lighting, while bronze panelling is in evidence throughout the station. However; the station is not without change: in the late 1990s, one of the three entrances was filled in to be used as a new ticket office, and due to the design of the automatic barriers, one of the two remaining entrances is exit only.

Oakwood tube station

Oakwood is a London Underground station on the Piccadilly Line. It is the second most northerly station on the line, between Southgate and Cockfosters stations, and is in Travelcard Zone 5. The station is on the edge of the Oakwood area of Enfield (N14) and is situated at the junction of Bramley Road (A110) and Chase Road (the other end of Chase Road is close to Southgate tube station).

Arnos Grove tube station

A Piccadilly line train at Arnos Grove with its doors open onto platforms 2 and 3.

Essex Road railway station

The station was opened on 14 February 1904 by the Great Northern & City Railway (GN&CR) on its underground route between the Great Northern Railway (GNR) station at Finsbury Park and the Metropolitan Railway (MR) and City & South London Railway (C&SLR) station at Moorgate in the City of London.

Victoria Miro Gallery

She has a reputation for integrity amongst clients; one of them, Arthur Goldberg, said, "She's a real quality person. That goes somewhere in the art world, where not every dealer can be trusted."[8] She is widely known within the art world (but less so outside it), where she is one of London's most influential cutting-edge contemporary art dealers, on a par with Jay Jopling, the proprietor of the White Cube gallery.[8] In 2001, despite her success, she rejected identification with the art establishment: "The last thing a contemporary gallerist wants to be called is 'establishment'. I like to think I still take risks in the gallery with younger artists. To me, 'establishment' just means dull."[8]
