Eynsford

The first building was completed in 1806, giving way to the present enlarged building in 1906. The work has continued to flourish, and the Church still supports its own full time Minister, even in the years where the local Established Church now has a Minister who is shared by three Parishes.

Farningham Road railway station

The station is non-smoking, as are all of Southeastern's trains and stations. On 6 August 2008 two youths threw a woman onto the rail tracks after she had asked them to stop smoking [5]. Despite CCTV coverage of the station, police initially struggled to identify the assailants;[6] however after further analysis two suspect were arrested almost a week later [7]. One was released without charge, while another, was charged with Grievous bodily harm [8]. Ionel Rapisca pleaded not guilty [9], but was found guilty and sentenced for four years [10][11][12], an appeal was unsuccessfully [13].

Longfield railway station

Usage of the station has grown considerably in the last thirty years, as it rests within a large catchment area of residential development. The frequency of services and journey times to and from London also attracts commuters away from the slower North Kent Line services provided at Gravesend, Northfleet and Swanscombe stations.

Fawkham Junction

The Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL) gave part of the line a new lease of life with the rebuilding of the rural section near Southfleet as a spur linking the CTRL and the Chatham Main Line. Much of the original route was followed but the initial Fawkham Junction was repositioned slightly to allow for higher speeds. Several bridges were also rebuilt alongside or in place of their originals. No stations were reopened. The CTRL was built in two stages and the initial stage (phase 1) was connected to the rail network via this rebuilt line. The completion of phase 2 means this section is no longer used by Eurostar trains. It only receives light use from engineering, non commercial trains and driver training purposes.

Chislehurst Caves

The caves were featured on several television programmes including an episode of the BBC programme 'Doctor Who' from 1973 titled "The Mutants", and 'Seven Natural Wonders' as one of the wonders of the London area, in an episode presented by Bill Oddie. Also featured in the movies Tribe and Inseminoid.
